AC337: Bakelite Cigarette/Trinket Box with National Tyres Logo.

Size: approx. 4 9/16 inches by 3 15/16 inches by 1 1/4 inches.

An interesting little black bakelite box.  It has a piece of green leather inset into the panel on the lid onto which has been stamped the National Tyres logo.  There is a full-length hinge at the back, and when you lift the lid it is weighted so that it stays open.  A small white bakelite "prop" prevents the lid from closing again.  The only damage on this item is a tiny chip from the hinge at the rear, which would normally be invisible.

Very useful for either cigarettes (its probable intended use) or as a trinket box for desktop items such as paper clips or spare ink cartridges or the like.
