AL007: Aikin Lambert Capitol "Lady Dainty".

This is a beautiful little black chased hard rubber pen by Aikin Lambert.  Both barrel and cap have a lovely original gloss and an excellent rich black colour with no apparent colour fading.  The chasing, in the form of incised hatched hoops, is still crisp and deep and shows no noticeable wear.  The cap has a gold filled chatelaine / watch chain ring at the very top.  Unusually, the cap also bears the imprint, which is still crisp and clear.  The flat ended barrel has a rounded filling lever that is gold filled, and is just beginning to show evidence of plating wear in a couple of spots, though this is only visible with a magnifier.  The nib is a lovely little Warranted 14 carat gold No. 2 size in a fine point.

I have fully serviced this pen.  The nib feels very smooth and lays down a good wet and fine line.  

An unusual and very pretty little pen - a good alternative to the more common Waterman 52 1/2 V.
