AT023: Cross Century No. 3501 Chrome Plated Ballpoint and Pencil Set, boxed.

Size: Length - 5 3/16 inches.

This beautiful ballpoint pen and pencil set is finished in lustrous chrome plate and is still in pristine and as-new condition.  I do not know whether or not either piece has ever been used but they certainly do not look like it.  Both items have a black plastic end piece that tapers at the top in traditional Cross fashion.  The imprints are just below this black button and are very crisp.  Below the imprints are the gold filled pocket clips which have a very thin tapered shaft. The caps and barrels are decorated with groups of vertical incised lines with polished panels in between.  There are no scratches at all and certainly no dings or other damage.  Unlike many of these Cross sets, there are also no personalisations.  There is a space on the caps for engraving of a name or initials but this is blank.

Ballpoint

The is a retractable ballpoint.  You twist the cap to advance the writing point.  It is fitted with the original Cross ballpoint refill and works perfectly.  The point of the pen is chrome plated.

Pencil

This is a propel-repel pencil that works by twisting the cap.  You can pull the cap off and below is an unused eraser.  Below this are several spare 0.9mm leads.  The cone is chrome plated.

Box

A dark grey paperboard box.   Again, in almost pristine condition with no damage to mention.  Inside, there is a pale grey flocked pad.  The lid is lined with a cream coloured satin.  The box is all very clean with no stains on the pad, and it's still in excellent condition.
