CO023: Conklin Endura Symetrik Pencil
Date: c1920s
Size: Length - 4 3/8 inches
A rather pretty little Conklin pencil in the beautiful
pearl and black or "nacre" marbled celluloid. This pencil is
in excellent condition, and I cannot find any damage on it at all. The
top of the pen pulls off and below is a used pink eraser in its
original metal holder. Below that is the lead storage area,
and although there are no spare leads there at present, I have fitted a
fresh 1.1m lead into the mechanism so it is all ready to go.
The top has a chatelaine / watch chain ring attached and a
gold filled band at the bottom. Just above the band is Conklin's
trade mark golden crescent. The top of the barrel has a
matching gold filed band with a good crisp imprint directly below.
The cone is also gold filled with a milled decorated band.
This is a
propel-repel pencil and works by twisting the top.
I have fully serviced this pencil. It works
well. These are very unusual pencils and are hard to come by
- especially here in the UK.
