CO025: Conklin Endura Symetrik Pencil
Date: c1930s
Size: Length - 5 5/16 inches
A large black celluloid penscil from I would think the
late 1930s. It is in very good condition. It has
several small dings to the large nickel plated cone, and a few very
fine and difficult to find scratches to the celluloid barrel, but no
other damage that I can see apart from that. The
crown has a large exposed pink eraser at the end, now worn down.
Just below the eraser is the crisp imprint, and below that a
milled band to afford a good positive grip. Using the milled
part you can twist the crown to extend and retract the 1.1mm lead.
The crown wil lalso pull off and allow several spare leads to
be stored in the barrel beneath. Although there are no spares
in there now, I have installed a fresh lead into the mechanism so the
pencil is all ready to go. The pocket clip has a spoon-shaped end, and
is held on by two tiny rivets. It too is nickel plated, as is
the large cone.
I have fully serviced this pencil. It works
well. These are very unusual pencils and are hard to come by
- especially here in the UK.
