ES235: Esterbrook J, No. 1555  Gregg Shorthand nib.

The Esterbrook J is a full-sized pen, being both longer and fatter than the SJ.  This pen is a glossy and bright pearlised green colour. Very attractive. It has no splits, cracks or chips and no noticeable surface scratches either.  The top of the cap and end of the barrel are both decorated with stepped black "jewels".  The pocket clip is ribbed and chrome plated, as is the cap band and filling lever.  The barrel imprint is still crisp and clear, and still very deep for an Esterbrook.  The nib is a No. 1555 Gregg Shorthand renew-point.  These stainless steel nibs are screw-in units and are interchangeable with other Esterbrook Re-new points.  This one is undamaged.

I have fully serviced this pen.  The nib is very smooth and lays down a fine width, wet and consistent line.
