HE006: Hero No. 001.

A new old-stock Hero pen from China.  This pen has never been inked or used.   It is supplied in its original cellophane wrapper, but unboxed, as these pens would have been displayed in the shop in a box of 12 pens, each in a little compartment in the box.  It was probably a school pen.  Although the cap and barrel are made from metal, the pen is very light.  The cap has a chromed top and a chrome plated pocket clip with HERO imprinted at the shoulder.  There is also the HERO name printed on the cap lip, and around the back of the cap is the model number "001".  The cap pulls off and posts onto the end of the barrel with a good firm click.  The finger grip looks to be made from a metalised plastic, and has three ribs.  The finish of the finger grip is not the best, with some tiny imperfections.  The steel nib is semi-hooded and in a fine point.  The barrel unscrews, to reveal an Aerometric style fixed ink filler.  

I did just dip the nib to get the writing sample below.  It feels very smooth and like most Hero pens seems to be a decent writer.  For this price, you reall can't go wrong!
