PA815: Parker Duofold Senior.
Date: c1955
Size: Capped - 5 5/8 inches; posted
- 6 3/8 inches.
A beautiful glossy jet black Senior Duofold.
This pen is in excellent condition. There are no
noticeable scratches on either cap or barrel, all the rolled gold trim
is bright and unbrassed. In fact, I have failed to find any
damage on this pen at all The cap has a
blue conical top "jewel" with a rolled gold Parker arrow
pocket clip and a rolled gold "deco" engraved cap band. The
barrel unscrews for
access to the Aerometric filler. This is, like most of the
early examples, is chrome plated. It shows a little pating
wear as is the norm for these earlier sac guards - the rear 1/4 inch of
metal has al ittle pitting. I replaced the in ksac on this
pen with a new clean and clear silicone sac as the original, although
no preished, was a little bit twisted inside the guard and the pen was
not filling to capacity. The nib is a lovely and large 14
carat gold Parker
No. 35 in a fine point. It is still nice and shiny and
undamaged, and clearly bears the date code for 1955, though this is not
usually visible as it is on the tang that is inside the section.
I have fully serviced this pen. Because of the
large ink sac, it holds a good amount of ink. The nib is
very smooth with a good amount of iridium on the
tip. It writes with a lovely wet and consistent fine to
medium width
line.
A lovely writer and a very good sized large pen.
