ST017: Stephens Leverfil No. 106
Date: c1930s
Size: Length - 5 inches
capped; 6 1/4 inches posted.
This attractive black chased celluloid Stephens fountain
pen is in excellent condition. I can find no damage on this pen
at all. Both cap and barrel have a very good original sheen, and
the chasing, in the very popular barleycorn attern, is still crisp and
sharp with no apparent wear. I can see no noticeable scratches,
sorface wear or any other damage. The
cap has the typical 1930s streamlined styling with a large black hard
rubber top
button. It is fitted with a washer style gold plated pocket clip
with a terminal ball, and a single narrow gold plated cap band.
The barrel has a good deep imprint - somewhat smudged looking due
to the way Stephen's made their imprints. Opposite is a plain
straight gold filled filling lever. The nib is a very nice 14 ct
Warranted nib in an extra-fine point.
I have fully serviced this pen. The nib is
nice and smooth and writes with a very good wet and extra-fine
width line.
